Community Connect ‘09
Topics: Public EventsOn June 13th, 2009, Project: Think Different (see my first post) is hosting a big event in the heart of Boston called Community Connect. And it’s going to be pretty sick, not going to lie.
Community Connect is going to be a big multi-media event that helps connects regular folk with other companies and programs that offer services based on issues people thought were most pressing in anonymous surveys we’ve been collecting for a couple months. There will be services there for things like college financial aid, child care, and employment opptunities. In order to keep this dull however, there will be a stage with musical performances from a lot of different genres, spoken word, dance groups, and poetry.
Honestly, I was lackluster at first and questioned how much support we would get behind Community Connect. But seriously, it’s turned out to be a really awesome and fun time. We would love to attract an audience to discover new music, meet some new people, or find some assistance in any problem areas via the services there. We’re hoping for a couple hundred to show, and more would be great.
Bands and companies that want to contact me about setting up there, please do: submissions@projectthinkdifferent.org
It’s going to be quite awesome. I’ll be there! June 13th, 10am-3pm, Boston Commons in downtown Boston (obviously). Comment on this blog or shoot me an email for more information.
